The RD (Read Design) range of parts was born from a desire to bring popular, and useful products back to the sport of trials. Designed to be economical, durable and easy to fit, all the RD parts are great problem solvers that look stylish, don't break the bank, and are made in the UK too! Created by Tarty Bikes founder, Adam Read, each RD part has been designed for a wide range of compatibility, with decades of trials knowledge applied to the design of each component. Parts intended for high stress use have been FEA stress tested, and physically tested by us on our own bikes, to ensure they offer performance and durability.
- Stainless steel 4 bolt brake booster, designed by Tarty Bikes founder, Adam Read!
- A strong, and stiff booster with design cues from the Deng era of trials, and a wide range of compatibility.
- Laser cut from durable SAE 304 stainless steel, right here in Bamber Bridge, UK!
- 304 stainless steel has a higher density compared to mild steel and aluminium of equivalent thickness, this means it resists deforming under load, increasing the life span of the part. This 3mm thick booster has a similar stiffness to a 9mm thick alloy booster of the same design!
- FEA (Finite Element Analysis) stress testing was used in designing the shape of this booster, ensuring it delivers an improvement in stiffness on your brake set up.
- Large cut-outs on the booster arms and above the top bolt holes help save weight, while the main bridge is solid to better cope with stresses under braking.
- Polished finish looks great with Tarty Bikes logo laser etched onto the top of the bridge. You can also use a polishing compound to give your booster a stylish mirror finish!
- All RD products are collected direct from the manufacturer by Ben on his trusty single speed bicycle! Better for the environment, and Ben's fitness.
- Brake mount spacing range of 85-104mm is designed for use with a rear brake. Simply measure your brake mount spacing to find out if this will fit your frame. If your mount is within 1mm of the minimum or maximum fit range of the booster, simply file the mounting holes to fit!
- 134mm at the widest outer point gives maximum stiffness without protruding too much so it risks catching your foot!
- 76mm inner diameter at the narrowest point over the top mounting holes leaves plenty of room for wider tyres.
- 55mm vertical clearance from the top bolt holes to fit a wide range of tyres. May not fit some 19" tyres, please measure your set-up before purchasing!
- Supplied with Trialtech booster spacers, steel washers and stainless steel M5 bolts with a shaft length of 45mm.
