Company History

TartyBikes was founded in November 2004 by David Cleaver and Adam Read, both of whom held Bachelor's Degrees in Sports Engineering from Loughborough University. With almost 15 years of trials experience between them at this point and the internet boom just starting, they blended enthusiasm and hard work in equal measure. This allowed TartyBikes to grow quickly, moving to larger premises 3 times in under 3 years.

In October 2007, Dave left TartyBikes to follow various exciting opportunities in the world of mountain bikes - now designing his own parts and having them manufactured to his exacting specifications.

TartyBikes changed hands in March 2022, with Ben Tyrrell and Charlie Goddard taking over the reins from Adam, who is still involved in helping to ensure the transition goes seamlessly.

Our current home in Bamber Bridge, near Preston, Lancashire is almost 10,000 sqft and allows us to hold a wide range of bikes, parts and accessories in stock for immediate dispatch - helping to keep you out on your bike when stuff breaks!
